Eliminating "Best Mode"

The proposal would alter the definition of "prior art," i.e., any existing knowledge of a similar innovation known to the Public. Current law requires inventors to disclose to the public the best mode or use (specific embodiment) of the invention at the time the patent application is filed. Without this requirement, the inventor and not the public would know or understand necessarily the full use of the patent.

While the bill's authors claim that they want to improve the quality of patents, eliminating the explanation of a specific embodiment or best mode of the invention would result in the opposite
